CA RX-V8 Build

Hello, I am new to the forum and just bought my first Mazda. It didn't have a motor when I bought it and decided to build a V8 powered RX-7. I built 91 Civic Si auto-x car and wanted something different, something RWD why not a RX-7, they look awesome.

Theres another website for people like you, I think its torquecentral or something. You will probably either get flamed or have no replies as most of us have little of no interest of putting V8s in our 7s or other 7s in general.

Actually there are in a rather large populous of those in the 7 club who are fans of the v8 conversion.

To the OP you may find this website useful:

Good luck with the project, thanks for bringing one back from the dead.

+1

But if you're gonna desecrate the temple of 7 with a pushrod powerplant, at least go bowtie 302 ftl

Thanks, I wanted to put a LS1 in but I got a good deal on this set up and I can make a 302 just as good as a LS1. I am building this for street use and weekend use at the track for now. I was thinking of building a FD with LS1 set up, but that won't be for a while.

Thanks, I am a member on that forum too.

I couldn't let a car like this die in the back yard of the house I found it at.

i dont understand why you would throw away the jessica albaness of the rx7 for a rosie o' donnell fat **** sounding v8. Thats just me though, i would obviously keep the jessica and am properly biased.

^^LOL!! I think the argument to that would be that a V8 is cheaper than a 20B.

I'd rather see a sr20 or rb26dett go in, but its your car. Enjoy.

It's been a while since I was last on this forum and worked on the car. The status of my build is about 90% complete. I just need to finish welding up my new seat brackets, and putting together the exhaust. right now it is just straight headers.

Here is a short clip of it running.

So it's a stock 302, pushing about 225 BHP right?

Why not a stock 13B-T with 205HP, for approx. 1000$ used?

BTW, my bro is building his 88 Mustang with a 347 stroked 302, his goal is 400whp N/A. But it's more expensive than a 20B

AFR 180 Heads, Holley SysteMax Intake etc...
