A question of advantages / diss advantages on a mountain road.
I've got a friend . Who moved to TN, and is looking into buying an FD shell . but hes a Big V8 fan and hes in love with the twisty roads up there .
Now he wants to swap a V8 from the get go, and my question is . I'm really just asking for an unbiased opinion . on V8 around twisty roads . what advantages / disadvantages do you feel up there . if there is such a thing as unbiased hah

I have been canyoning for about 5 years in a lot of different cars, and turbo lag I find is really a pain to work with in tight stuff and it forces you to be in the right gear. Seeing as the LS doesn't really add any front end weight, you would retain nimbleness which can be very useful, and also have the torque like littleguy mentioned, so less shifting. On a track it's easier to keep a turbo spooled, canyons will make you work for it.
Staying in the power band is REALLY easy with the LS. Making the mountain roads MUCH more fun. When I autoX the only thing I run into is that on the really small turns the 4.10 rear forces me to go into first and there is just too much power in first. :-p I've been thinking about putting in a 3.90 or going cobra rear with a 3.73.
