The "How much does your swapped rx-7 weigh?" thread

I figured I would start this thread in the hopes poeple could contribute so others can see what weight changes to expect after a swap, I'll go first.

With a quarter tank of gas my car wound up at 2520lbs with out me, and 2800lbs with me in the seat. I gotta say the dumps scale was right on since I weigh 280.

Weight relevant parts of my combo,
93 ford 5.0HO with iron GT40p heads, T-5 trans, stock rear, no AC, stock interior.

thats pretty light all things considered, i cannot tell you what mine weighs in yet, but im guessing it will be in the mid 2600s to low 2700s with a moderate fuel load, but we will see, im curious on how my balance is going to end up, im not concerned with either figure as the car will have retarded power, but im curious how well my guess work will turn out in the end

I'm tweaking a couple things this winter and hoping to get to 2800 lbs even, but yeah, it's pretty nice to drive and once completed will weigh LESS than stock and everything stock still works, aside from P/S and A/C.

Wow 2800lbs is decent for a stock FC let alone one that has a bunch of turbo V8 business going on under the hood.

The lightweight transmission and rearend help quite a bit I'm sure. Engine is all aluminum also.

Actually, that's without any lightening effort at all. Probably has about 20 lb. of DynaMat in it! Bigger/heavier-than-stock wheels/tires/brakes, ~40 lb. roll bar, full interior.

At the time, it had all the a/c components except the compressor installed, but I was stunned at how lightweight the GTO compressor was when we installed it, can't weigh more than 10 lb.

Those weights are also with a heavy electric power steering pump from an MR2 Spyder mounted up front. Never got it working right, so I replaced it with a practically weightless G8 pump, probably took 5-8 lb. off.

Anyway, the numbers above should be pretty close to the current config, with functioning A/C and power steering. Should be less than 2830 lb. empty

383 Stroker Iron block/heads 86 FC SE with me in it and a half tank of gas = 2975lbs from a truck scale.
Might be swapping the heads to aluminum AFRs next year.

Without a driver, full fluids, ~7 gallons of gas.

93 FD widebody, 388 all bore ls1
F/R bias is actually off since the floor was pitched, but total weight is accurate. Working on losing those last 49 lbs...

So far it looks like every one is comfortably under 3k without the driver.

^ Yes. Mine is 2840lb without me in it and a full tank of gas. I have a LQ9 (iron block) FD so the block is about 90lb heavier than an aluminum block.

Not the verts. 3170 lbs. with a 1/4 tank of gas. No lightening at all, has A/C, PS, and stock interior. Gained a little from the swap, but most of it was the transmission and TII rear. Weight balance actually improved.

I am okay on the weight since it is a cruiser more than a bruiser. Doubling the horsepower more than made up for the weight anyway.

94 Touring FD LS1 3030lb without me.
The car has full interior, A/C, stereo inc subs and Dynamat. The Dynamat and stereo add at LEAST 120lb.

It also has 18x10 CCW's with 285/30 tires which add a little too.
