Its a used 90mm with a 90mm NW TB. Picked it up used after reading there wasnt any material difference between it and a 92mm. (which makes sense as 2mm isnt much)
Apparently a 102mm wont fit under the stock hood without modifying it, which I wasnt excited about doing.
Car seems more responsive, but I dont know if its faster or not. It was 20* out when I installed it (in my heated garage) and when I drove it it just spins the tires at any reasonable speed when I floored it. It used to do that before though in such cold weather. I'll know better once its warmer out

The winter has set in, and disassembly began...hoping to sand blast, ceramic & paint exhaust system. I Wonder if people who sell cars with short-cut fixes all over their builds think the buyer won't discover them? Once I dug in, item after item kept showing up & now half the car is torn apart. Smh- now I have to figure out what wires are what throughout entire car. Argh!!

Some very impressive cars here, some well engineered, some beautifully built, some more utilitarian. But I don't see many that appear to have been built with the same objective I had 12 years ago when I put a Ford 302 and Ford AOD trans in my FB. I just wanted a nice driving car for regular daily use with pretty good performance, good reliability and a nice looking engine compartment to go with the exceptionally nice interior and body. I used the FC 5-bolt hubs and brakes and the 1990 convertible BBS wheels. Empty weight was about 2550 pounds. I had a fairly radical cam, and the rumble of the V8 was fun for a while, setting off car alarms everywhere I went. But eventually I got bored with that and installed a stock Mustang GT cam, a little less power, but much nicer to drive. I drove it for 9 years and when somebody offered me enough money I sold it.
I was ready for something more civilized - I bought a R32 Skyline front clip, with an RB20DET straight six turbo motor and 5 speed and installed it in my red and silver FB - not quite as fast as the V8, but very quiet and smooth. The rotorheads who say nothing is as smooth as a rotary have never driven a Skyline six. The FB has a big engine compartment, and there was plenty of room for the straight six. We even used the stock Skyline clutch fan, radiator and intercooler. This motor is rated at 215 hp, and I am getting 28 mpg in local driving. Empty weight is 2500 pounds. With the FC brakes, front and rear and this Skyline motor, I feel like this is the perfect balance of performance and stopping ability in an FB for street driving. Of course it will never handle like an FD.

Just because it's been a while, my old car, one of the first V8 FCs ever built (back in '92):
I'm looking around for the right FC convertible project car to build a new one from, basically duplicating that old car in convertible form. Good to see the community is still going strong.

Hey saw you had a Fc im currently building one and im going v8 350 small block was wondering what would be a good manual trans and rear would be or can i use the stock rear with this set up

Anti-Hero
Small block. The Borg Werner is a week 5 speed so that puts you I'm automatics unless you want to do a t5-6 or a Muncie 4 speed or Saginaw 4 speed. The other option of course would be the tremec with a bellhousing modification. Stock turbo 2 rear end will do just fine

I swap. Do you?
Stock NA diff will work with a stock SBC 350 until you decide to hammer it.
Stock TII diff is good for about 450HP (at the motor) or until you start hammering it with slicks. Hopefully the axles snap before the diff which is common. I'm running a TII diff with my 383 Stroker and it's working fine with street tires.
Transmissions are pretty much what you decide to go with. I originally had a T5 WC that lasted a couple years but bit the dust at 450 HP. I'm currently running an LS T56 which is fantastic!
