Well, it would be lazy if I was going to roll the LT1 as an N/A

hahah, actually I have the kit sold to a local guy and he wants to swap it over to his car while they are side by side so if he has to do any cutting or bending, he can see exactly what needs to be done. I'm just waiting on him to return from vacation.

Likely because it's at least 100 times easier to bolt the motor and transmission in the car together, and doing that without someone to push down on the transmission will accomplish nothing but a bent tailshaft and a hole in the firewall

Car looks nice, looks like it's coming along great. For your motor mount issue, I got mine in by leaving the motor mount plates on the block loose until I got the lower mount studs through the cradle and got the nut on them. It took some pry bar action and a few cuss workds, but it really wasn't that bad. Once you get the studs to drop in, tighten everything down and it will be fine without slotting the cradle. Slotting it won't really hurt (unless you REALLY slot it) but it's not required.

As for the power steering, my car doesn't have it so I can't really help ya there. But good luck

Looks Great!! I would have loved to do the LT1, but $200 was too good to pass up on a 98 Vortec. I like the Fuel Injection, but I think that using a carb is going to be a whole lot simpler and cheaper.

And I already have my windshield sticker picked out: FRIED RICE

Later,
Bill

It's not running yet. I should be finished with it by the weekend.

The weight is fine. I measured fender drop before and after and it didn't drop at all in the front. I've driven an old school all-iron Chevy powered 2nd gen and rode in an LT1 powered 'vert. Both felt like there was no change in handling.

The LT1 vert gets 24mpg in town and 26-28 on the highway.
