I'd go with a 327c.i turbo jet vette motor in a first gen. 360hp and a somewhat light motor. Or for fun you could drop a LS6 450hp 454 with a M22 rock crusher trans and a ford 9" rear end. But then again it all defeats the purpose of a RX-7 in my opinion.

LS1s don't have 7K rev limiters, my TA had it come on at 6K, bumped it to 6200. C5s might get up to 6500, but that's about it, I forget their setup.

I'd go with an LS1 over LT1 for two reasons:

1. Optispark. You will hate life with the Opti, don't ever let it get wet. If you do go LT1, get a new water pump, the weepage from a leakign seal will kill the Opti.

2. Aluminum block on the LS1 for weight savings

T56 is nice with the 4.11s in the RX-7, common upgrade for the F-body is 4.10 rear gears.

I wouldn't waste my money on an LS6, just add the LS6 manifold and some aftermarket parts, and you'll be at the 400HP level easy.

G'luck.

Good luck with the swap. You'll enjoy it.
