New Project underway(some of you rotary fans are going to like this)

Whats up everyone? I been on this site for a couple of months now mostly browsing. My names Mark im 23(24 on the 28th) and im from Connecticut. I bought my first 93 R1 with 57,000 miles about 3 months ago..since then I have been preparing it for my swap. I also have a Z06 motor out of a 2004 Z06 along with a 6 speed transmission out of a 2002 WS6 trans am. The motor is basically stock except for a 236/236 .590/.590 112 cam along with the upgraded valvetrain components necessary to run the cam. With just those and basic bolt ons like headers/ported tb 42# injectors I should be looking at aroun 420rwhp before the 100 shot. I also have a built shortblock that I plan on running once the car is broken in and I plan on hitting it with a 200 shot or if I really want to get myself into it change the pistons and run a single turbo. My previous cars were a (in this order) black 93 6 speed trans am with a 150 shot, black 93 6 speed trans am with a built bottom end/cam stock heads T-trim supercharger than an 88mm single turbo(never ran right) then a black 96 trans am WS6 with 30,000 miles first with a 383LT4 NA motor then a fully forged 8.39:1 compression short block with trickflow heads and a 76 MM turbo and made 713rwhp on 16lbs of boost also did a 98+ trans am conversion to fit the 32x12x4" intercooler in the front. Also a 94 single turbo supra, and an 04 cobra with a ported eaton 15lbs of boost, icebox, header back exhaust and other supporting mods Now for my current car...never even bothered driving the car with the rotary..got the car and started tearing it down that day. As it sits right now it has greddy 32way adjustable coil overs, brembo rotors/stainless lines, delrin bushings(and every other bushing replaced)adjustable lower control arms/toe links, bigger sway bars front and rear tower/strut bars and soon to be a custom 6pt roll cage. I will also be upgrading the diff and axles. The car is in very bad need of a paint job and pretty much a general cosmetic overhaul. I will be repainting the entire car replacing all the weather seals around the windows, getting rid of any rust under the car and completely cleaning up the engine bay down to every last bolt/bracket. They are getting sanded ,left with the sanded texture then clear coated to give them a nice look. I am painting the engine bay black as I think it will make the engine stand out a little more. These are the only pics I have of the day I got the car...since these pics Ive added the 99 adjustable spoiler(just test fit it to make sure all the holes were lined up and good to go) and re did the interior. The person before me had traded the seats that came with the car for leather seats and ended up ruining them so they will need to be recovered. I might just go back to the stock R1 seats or possibly some form of racing seat. I will also be adding either the 99 spec front bumper or the plateless style along with the a-pexi sideskirts. Still havent decided on wheels but they will have some sort of dish out back. Anyways here are a few of the pics from when I first got it:

(taken with only the shocks/brakes installed)

heres a few pics of the oldies,
(inside of the 96 trans am)

(this is the exact same car with the different front ends on it)

well thats prolly enough for pics..if you want to see anymore or any of my videos of my cars actually going you can add me on myspace...my myspace is www.myspace.com/transam6383 (send me a message to let me know your from rx7club..i dont usually add people i dont know)

Sounds like a nice project, but I'm a bit confused as to why the "rotary fans" are going to like the fact that you disliked the rotary engine so much that you refused to even drive it unless you swapped a corvette motor into it?

Since you are overhauling the car I wish you were doing it to a car in worse condition; however, it will be sick when you are done with it. Good luck!

If that's an R1, then why is the passenger side oil cooler opening blocked off?

No idea...thats what the kid told me. I dont even know what an R1 is. He said it came with no rear wiper, some kinda suspension which is gone already, suede seats and a few other things. How can I find out if it really is and what is an R1?

No rear wiper, no sunroof, no CD player, black interior, black "suede" seats, stiffer shocks, front and rear spoilers, 5-speed manual, and dual oil coolers.

The base model also came with no sunroof, no rear wiper, and black interior with black suede/mesh insert seats, and spoilers can be added. The dead giveaway is that you don't have a second oil cooler on the passenger's side.

O, well I guess the fact that Im putting aftermarket seats, I already have suspension,99 spec rear wing and an LSx voids the fact that it might of been either no? haha
