they do look that way dont they? but when you look at them up close they are very tight against the 1/4. a few mm away is all.

PLEASE take a picture of your subframe steering rack, and a profil pic showing the cam gear/hood clearance too! PLEASE!!!!!!

RISEN 08-20-07 10:29 PM

Great project Roach!!!!

I have a couple of questions...:)

Bump steer... how is it?
Did you use the rear/mid sump oil pan?
What transmission are you using?
Did you have to modify the hood for clarence of the motor and turbo?
With the custom intake manifold, how the clarence on the brake booster/master cylinder?
Stock 2JZ-GTE OEM ECU?
Any pics of the engine mounts?

Thank you for you time... Again, great project!

bump steer is not going to be an issue
yes used the rear sump oil pan
im using the getrag supra 6 speed with the street disk 2800 pres. plt
hood does not have to be modified, may have to remove a little sup. from the underside
that intake manifold does hit the brake booster. i will be having manual brakes untill we figure out that issue.
the whole motor and head were built, aem ems
its a custom k member

So how are you compensating for moving the steering rack?

the steering rack was moved in mm, if moved at all. so no compensation needed

????:uhh:

Not according to that picture you just posted....

The rack is clearly positioned much lower than the stock location. Hard to give an exact number, but it looks very close to 1.5-2" lower.

Maybe it was 40-50mm. :)

No doubt.

Funny how all the 2JZ swappers lie about moving their steering racks and introducing bump steer. 99.9% of them probably don't even know what bump steer is or how to measure it, let alone correct for it.

WRONG... look a lil bit harder b4 you say stupid shit!

roachdiddy 08-24-07 12:30 AM

the k member in the pic of the red car isnt even the k member in my car. that was a moc for fitting. NOTICE THE WELDS ARE NOT FINISHED!!!!!!!! was changed an extream amount for closing the hood, steering rack, oil pan protection... etc...
you must have lazers for eyes to measure mm with a picture! haha

wanklin 08-24-07 01:26 PM

You would be wise to check for bump anyway. I started a thread about it a while back in the suspension which outlines the testing procedure, which you may already know how to do....
