Does anyone know what front bumper kaisar1 has on his FD?

roachdiddy 10-13-08 11:01 PM

very cool. sounds like you have a good start. just watch out there are many costs that will jump up and bite you in the ass.
good luck man

With my set up i need a custom hood as the motor sits higher. Also i saw that you were custom fitting and making components for your swap. How do you intend to work the speedo and tach? tech2 sells the interface boxes and magnetic pick up coils. and also custom a harness. I will be running the AEM stand alone. I dont have the money for a new DIFF and axles right now. Im a 21 yr old full time student. I had a new speed 3 with about 320 wheel with bolt ons but its totaled now! I'm waiting on a few parts to come in then we will be under way!

hey roachdiddy, What cat back exhaust will you be using? I am having trouble finding a 4 inch cat back.

roachdiddy 10-16-08 03:47 PM

car is finished man. i had a custom built 4in system from the turbo back. i think ull have a hard time finding a 4in cat back system for a rx7???

car just went up for sale on ebay... didnt wana put it there but i guess we will see how it turns out? i have a feeling it will be people bidding but not paying in the end

Nice Project!!

roachdiddy 10-17-08 11:56 PM

thank you. im in the process of trying to sell it... but if it doesnt sell im going to do a few more things and just keep it.
if it doesnt sell ill add a 6 point ally cage, repaint flat black (yes engine bay and jams), custom 15x10 rear wheels with DR, race buckets and retune untill turbo reaches its limit...

Funny... I might be doing the same thing once I`m finish wiring up mine. I like putting the cars together though.

However, i think I`ll go out and upset a couple of people first:)

KKMpunkrock2011 10-28-08 10:50 PM

pics? vids? why are you selling it? I thought you wanted it to be your dream car?

pissing ppl off ftw.

roachdiddy 10-29-08 01:06 PM

it is my dream build. but i enjoy building them more than driving them. there are a ton of pics ans a dyno video on youtube.
a friend of mone has a short video of it at the track but i have asked him for it 3 times now with no luck.

timothymcdavid 11-14-08 02:39 PM

Roachdiddy ... can you please tell me about the weight distribution on the swapped car ... how much heavier it is with the 2jz-gte.

roachdiddy 11-14-08 05:24 PM

Thats ok ... the main thing i was trying to determine is how is the handling ... also i must have missed it what rim and tire combo your running to get them all them Toyota horses down to the ground?

roachdiddy 11-15-08 11:43 AM

handles nice. it was super easy to drift also, easy to handle.
ssr 18" rims and the tires are shit. they are real hard comp. falken's.

Has anyone done one of these swaps who drives on track regularly or drifts?

roachdiddy 11-24-08 07:05 PM

no, not many of these swaps around. they are very expensive... most people find that out half way through the build, then never finish.
i took mine out on a "drift night" late at night. boy was it fun, and im glad i didnt get a ticket. no i didnt drive crazy in residential areas.

my hats off to you. most people get the bug to build everything. not many keep it stock. and when your building a 2jz things get spendy fast!
