Great project Roach!!!!
I have a couple of questions...:) Bump steer... how is it? Did you use the rear/mid sump oil pan? What transmission are you using? Did you have to modify the hood for clarence of the motor and turbo? With the custom intake manifold, how the clarence on the brake booster/master cylinder? Stock 2JZ-GTE OEM ECU? Any pics of the engine mounts? Thank you for you time... Again, great project! |

Again, great project! yes used the rear sump oil pan im using the getrag supra 6 speed with the street disk 2800 pres. plt hood does not have to be modified, may have to remove a little sup. from the underside that intake manifold does hit the brake booster. i will be having manual brakes untill we figure out that issue. the whole motor and head were built, aem ems its a custom k member http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i9.../cradle1-1.jpg |

Not according to that picture you just posted.... The rack is clearly positioned much lower than the stock location. Hard to give an exact number, but it looks very close to 1.5-2" lower. -Rob |
Matt,
Looks great so far...I can't wait to drive it:) The NSX is going to the track in 2 weeks...I am breaking in the new clutch... The clutch in the car was toast...I send you pictures... Bill |

Funny how all the 2JZ swappers lie about moving their steering racks and introducing bump steer. 99.9% of them probably don't even know what bump steer is or how to measure it, let alone correct for it. |

the k member in the pic of the red car isnt even the k member in my car. that was a moc for fitting. NOTICE THE WELDS ARE NOT FINISHED!!!!!!!! was changed an extream amount for closing the hood, steering rack, oil pan protection... etc...
you must have lazers for eyes to measure mm with a picture! haha |
You would be wise to check for bump anyway. I started a thread about it a while back in the suspension which outlines the testing procedure, which you may already know how to do....

What's an "extream" amount? Or more likely, you're a moron. |

It's interesting how many threads end up where this one is...
If the truth be known Matt (roachdiddy) is a super cool guy. He is going down a path with his car that few have attempted. I think when its complete the car is going to be awesome...Matt will probably be answering lots of questions from many RX7 owners in the future who are wanting to drop a 2JZ under the hood... Oh and by the way I want to drive the car once it's complete..... |
rx7club is lame
the amount of "know it alls" who post on here is staggering....the guy was answering all the questions being asked yet stupid dumb fucks have to ruin it for everyone....bro...i think your project is sweet....dont mind the douche bags on this site....most of them are just wishing they could do a build like yours anyways...heh:icon_tup:

No, all that anyone wanted was a straight answer on how far the steering rack was moved, but even the dipshit who owns the car doesn't know, and now we have some stupid cunt with a handful of posts telling us how jealous we are of this project. Does that about sum it up? |

Getting popcorn.... BUT, I do like the car and am interested too in seeing how the bump steer works out for you. Many people have tried this before, none (to my knowledge) have been successful and I’m sure that is what is driving the skepticism from others in the post. |
lol

Do your own research. |

roachdiddy:I love the swap. It looks nice and I can guarantee it'll be very fast/make nice power when it's all done. I love the 2JZ engine and the body of the RX-7; what better combo. Keep up the hard work and keep us all posted on the progress.

Thats a sweet swap bro.
|
JimLab: Your project is no closer to the road than roach's regardless of his ignorance. You don't "drive" anything comparable, nor does he. Nice pissing contest though. Youre both grade A douchbags.
