hahaha ya the hood was just temporary but never got around to changing, I want a T2 hood to experiment with and yes its different! thats kinda what I wanted and I also love the sound of a Ford v8 over a Chevy, its not as deep as a Chevy.
I will take better shots of the engine bay for you guys, radiator and AC condenser is what you see up front, even got the mustang powersteering and its reservoir in the engine bay its as Mustang as possible from the dash cluster, under the dash and to the front of the car haha. She runs great! always has! heater, defrost and AC all work! lol I even have the OBD2 scanner port in the location it is on a Mustang.
Ill definitely get more pics seeing how its caught your interests, id love some pointers on where to find a hood if possible guys, im in cali in the bay area. Paint is also on its ways, ive got plans for her and later eventually ill sell her with Bar stickers

I respect that you've gone to the trouble of getting it in there and working. I know what's required to do a full custom engine/trans swap.
I assume you built this because you had certain goals in mind. Maybe you wanted a sportscar with a ford V8 in it. It had to be fuel injected and RWD. It needed to be 2 door with a small set of back seats. It needed to be easy to modify with a large aftermarket following. It needed to be old enough to be fairly cheap to buy and own, but new enough to be easy to find in roadworthy condition for under 5 grand. You unnecessarily built yours, because they already made such a car: the mid/late 90's Ford Mustang GT.
Why not just buy a mustang for the same 4 grand it cost you to build this, and save your 100+ man-hours of labor and fabrication? You'd have wound up with a car easier to work on and modify, probably less money in it, definitely less time in it, probably a better diff/rearend setup to handle the torque long-term, and (to most people) a cleaner looking car overall (since it didn't have to get cut up to fit the engine etc.).

probably cost much less than 4 grand, considering a used engine at the yard is under $500 complete with tranny, but you're right. i don't understand many people's mentality of these swaps when there are cars out there that take zero work to afford.
some people are cutters, some aren't.

Alot less than 4000 for sure! I had most of the swap available to me from a family member that wrecked their mustang, and why not buy a mustang?? well 1. I hate Mustangs with a passion lol, its a girl car in my opinon and exteremly overrated especially since that Gone in 60 Seconds movie haha and 2. Bragging rights!
I dont know how many heads ive turned just pulling in the gas station and supringly everybody knows its an RX7 but they can never figure out what the hell is under the hood only that its a v8 hahaha.

I understand why people hate when a rx7 falls victim to a swap but all and all they are only cars. Different strokes for different folks. Before paint I would defiantly do something about that hood. Maybe like an 04 Stang hood with blisters on each side to help with cooling. I'm painting mine black going for a Mad Max look.

most people want more power, turbo. one customer came in several months back, basic non turbo rebuild with a street port and diffuser removal.
month later came asking about a turbo conversion.
now i sit here waiting for the turbo intake manifold to come back from the welder so i can put the intake on the 6 port block.
in all about 80% of customers are turbo or eventually wind up turbo. the n/a customers are few and far between.
i hate it, because i'm constantly looking for these nonexistent turbo parts, even more of a headache is when people want to do it cheap and i don't want to sound like a dick and turn them away, i wind up looking anyways. but in all turbo rotaries aren't for everyone, and pockets need to be deeper now than years ago.

And to the OP: Congrats on getting it BAR'd. That's a lot of extra work most v8 swappers don't bother to go through. Just needs a little more 'fit and finish work'. See Clokker's build thread, but turn it down to about a 4. His car is now like Eleventy.
Damn good job on the meter cluster. And please expand on that shifter coming up through the ashtray.

I'd think ya'll would applaud a swapped engine because it's one less owner in competition for the increasingly rare turbo drivetrains.
