A 13b N/A, unless it is bridged or periphrial ported isn't going to take out an FD. A streetport with all the bolt-ons will run with one though.

I used to have a first gen which I owned for 19 years. I went from new, bone stock to a streetported 13b with a blower and nitrous. The only thing original in that car when I sold it was probably the carpet and the windows! I saw it recently and it's still as pristine or in better shape than when I sold it, imacculate. The guy wants to sell it for 4000. The blower has less than 1000 miles on it.

Many a corvette, mustang and Porsche saw the back end of that thing!

doesn't belong here. Read the stickies at the top of the section. There's a specific place for non-rotary swaps.

yes they are LS covers i did a little modifying (aka 3" air cut off tool) im going to mount them with some aluminum brackets and some 2 part appoxy and some 10mm bolts... no biggy. i didnt like the LT vette covers the LS ones look much better (they cover alot of the ugly hoses too )

Jon: this is the 1st gen forum and my car is a first gen yes? hehe. also i wanted to gauge opinions from the rotary croud...

2300lbs? You are in the car and you also have a lot more weight with all the bondo and panels not to mention the tires/rims and the V8. It will run mid 12's if you are very lucky.

geez guys quit hating.
full weight FC's with 300whp run mid 12s on street tires. i have no doubt he'll run 11's on slicks, assuming he can keep the tires from spinning.

It's not hating. You just don't know what you are talking about.

well the way i see it: (and yes all of these are documented weights and scaled:

2335 is the BASE weight for a 1985 GS (the modle i have no PW PL sunroof nothin!

i removed the huge gas tank -45
but added an aliminium (sp) fuel tank +10
removed all of the:
carpet -15
sound detinging -10
door pannels -20
side platic trim and all plstic speaker surrounds ect. -20
got rid of all heat shealds including the ones ontop of the stock fuel tank -5
got rid ogf the heavy stock seats -50
but added light plastic 3rd gen seats +40
the LT1 only adds lets say +80 even thoough its closer to 40(as stated on grannysspeedshop.com)

i put 1 gallong of bondo on the car +5
took out the stock headlights and motors: -20
took off both front fenders lets say: -50
and header piece -10
front bumper -25
cut out the rear fenders (saws-all!) -10
added the whole fiberglass IMSA kit (thin fiberglass mind you) +60 (being generious)
put in 4 squair headlights +5

No comment on the engine choice, it's your car and it sounds like you have explored/experienced many other rotary options. Personally, I would finish all of the body and and paint work, including that gawd awful gross looking engine bay, before installing any engine. Good luck with making it into the 11's. That makes for a very quick car once you get there.
