LS7 vs. LT4?

Hi all, probably a stupid question, but just got done reading a bit about the new vette z06. Is there any info on why GM went back to the LT platform vs. improving on the LS?

They didnt go "back" to anything. Just a name change. They are horrible at re-using old nomenclature. The LS and LT naming has been used multiple times back to the 60s

The Gen V LT4 is significantly different from say the Gen IV LSA or LS9. It's direct injected and the valve positions are reversed.
