the fc chassis weighs more than the fd an your saying yours weighs less than all the fd's with ls1's listed?

Actually, the FC and FD weigh almost exactly the same when specced similarly.
When equipped with turbos, the factory shows the weights within 50lbs. of each other.

My iron block LS1/FC with an iron block, big turbo setup and full leather/power seats and power windows/moonroof weighed just a hair over 3000 lbs. I should be down to 2850-2900 still keeping power everything with my aluminum block.

The FC/FD weight difference is minimal; and the lightest FCs are quite a bit lighter than the lightest (USDM) FDs; '86 base models are high 2600/low 2700 lbs; no FDs were that light.

Actually the 91 TII broke 3000 lbs while the FD was still 2850ish.

I just weighed our '93 with a LT1 swap.
No sunroof, no AC, no power steering.
Fuel tank full.
2850 lbs.

Less than I was expecting, TBH.

FD's to the best of my knowledge were always close to the 3K mark, I remember seeing figures of 2981.
