Does anyone know the laws regarding emissions laws and dropping an LS1 into an FD? Im very interested in doign this, but my future home county requires emissions and safety inspections..

 

I believe every state and county treats this differently , although all the emissions equipment that came with the engine should be retained for passing the sniffer.

 

It's hard to say. I believe in California you can get a get a car certified with the new engine if it's the same year as the car or newer. Then they put a plaque in the door sill or something. I'd poke around on the web, check with the guys putting v8's in 280's and jaguars.
