LS1 to RX7 5-speed??

I am contemplating swapping an LS1 into my rotary powered Viking (clone of Lotus 7). Do not have room to fit T-5, T-56, etc and wondered if anyone has ever successfully mated the V8 to the Mazda trans?

that will last about 2 hours, I'm making less power than a near stock LS1 with allot less torque and I break a trans about every year

But then again your car is allot lighter.

Hard to imagine you don't have room for a T5 transmission. They are very compact.

Does anyone know the exact dimensions of the T-5? Is there a site that has dimensions, weights, etc?
