Ls1 Jza70?

i know this is grossly off topic, but has anyone ever seen a 3rd gen supra with an LS1? it seems like this would be a good car for the swap since you might actually lose some weight over the iron block straight 6. i googled and checks some forums, but with no luck.

i don't think anybody would have done that for the simple fact that the supras are having no problems making power...

weight is a bit of an issue for the whales.. i mean supras... but i believe traction kills them even more... (from a stop, that is haha... always fun to watch a supra roll off on somebody)

The 1jz is to nice of a motor to yank to throw in an SBC and in Japan that would probably be a rather expensive proposition. Yanking the 7m from the MA70 (only config available in the us) doesn't sound like a bad idea. Knowing toyota guys tho, I bet they would be more likely to go with a 1uz-fe if it could fit.

Just to be the nit picking jack ***, the jza70 wasn't available (officially) outside of japan and only 5000 were made. the Jza70 is a mkIII supra with the 1jz in it. the Ma70 is the config we got stuck with, using teh 7m-g(t)e, same chassis, just crappier motor.

I dont think you'll see an LS1-Supra because the cars are so overpriced nowdays. its not like the FC or even sometimes an FD where the car can be had for cheaper because the engine blew.

I just wish the Honda S2000 had a more square-ended engine bay so you could fit an LS1 in there without modification, because I really love those cars a lot and they would be incredible with double the power (without boost)... and S2000 rollers are about the same as FD rollers so its a silly idea.

You didn't use a generic chassis code. YOU specified a MKIII Supra that was equiped with a JZ series engine. The generic code for the platform is A70.
