LS1 FD weigh-in

I finally got a chance to get my car on the scales and it weighed-in at a whopping...... 2780 lbs. This is in full street trim, spare tire, a rear hatch full of misc. parts and junk, and about 14 gallons of gas. So you can do the math. If you ran the tank down to a couple gallons and pulled all the crap out of the hatch, it should weigh in the neighborhood of 2650 lbs. Not bad for a car with 5.7 liters of aluminum up front.

For anyone who was considering the swap but was worried about weight, there's the proof. Not from the salesman, but from a customer.

I'm all for this, FYI, but I don't suppose you managed to get individual cornerweights for the thing? That would be nice to see. Although I suppose you could assume they must be close to stock since the overall weight is in the ballpark.

No, unfortunately I wasn't able to get it corner-weighed. I plan on doing that in the near future since I'm about to get into my suspension setup. But from driving the car, I can tell you it's every bit as neutral as it used to be.

I can get you cornerweighted if you'd like. You'd have to come over to Naples. PM me if you're interested.

I make take you up on that. I'll be moving back to AL in a few weeks, and if I end up driving, I'll plan my way thru Naples. I'll let you know in the next couple weeks.

Good to hear. From what I understand when you swap them and lose a lot of the associated pluming from the 13B the numbers come out about the same, and with the addition of a rollcage the balance goes back to 50/50
