LS1 FD tranny question

Those running the LS1 setup, can the trans be pulled out to do a clutch job if need be, without having to yank the engine?

I was looking at the engine/trans combo sitting on my garage cart and it seams that there may be issues getting it down and out once in the car.

Yes you can pull the tranny. I just did my clutch a month ago and it was a piece of cake on a lift. Actually my pressure plate bolts had backed out so be sure and loctite those, supposedly it's a common problem. I would highly recommend doing a new clutch and 01+ slave cylinder while the motor is out to save you the trouble later.

Yup, you sure can.

Bryan (1point3liter) even has a nice little writeup with pictures.
