I think it's finally V8 time.
After building my NA 6 port a total of seven times in the past two years due to side seal / port issues, I think I'm ready to cancel my plans of hooking up a Millenia S supercharger to the rotary and buying an LS1/T56 combo instead. I don't have what it takes to build a mean rotary that will last.
So I'm coming out of the closet guys, anyone got any good recommendations for where to pick up the hardware? All I really want is the engine to be light and upgradable........LS1 seems perfect.

Just thinking about a low maintenance 12 second FC with NO MODS at all other than a new engine makes me almost love the idea of owning my car again!

Throw in a cam, add a nice set of ported heads, some longtubes, and you'll have a 10 second low maintenence car.

yeah my swap is just been cracking at my skull ever since i got my 10th AE. its just finally starting to crack the inner layer. i love my cadillac's refined 32 valve northstar engine, its light, practiaclly maintanece free, except for oil changes and makes the most HP per liter in its class. so why not replace the tired old rotor that gets bad gas mileage, needs to be babied, needs premix, needs more oil every 500 miles, needs time to warm up, needs time to cool down, doesnt make alot of power, questionable reliability, all in all its too much hassle for me. i love cadillacs.
to me the answer is simple

you should be able to find a cheap LS1T56 locally to you or at least find a wrecked/hit Camaro/Firebird to parts out while you keep the good stuff.
sometimes swaps are on ebay from private sellers for cheaper than sallvage yards and you can also find swaps on www.ls1tech.com
nice decision man, once you get it built you will wonder why you didnt do it sooner.
I can spin my rear 285's at WOT in 1st, 2nd and 3rd.... hehehheeeee
