"First Post" V8 RX7 front suspension
I just bought a 1987 RX7 that has had a 307 small block and 200 r4 tranny behind it and i have some questions. I want to know what kinda fron suspension parts I can put on too make it sit higher....i lost probably an 1.5 inches with the weight of the v8....does any know of some coiovers or something i can buy that will stiffen it up...thaks for any help

Was this a turbo car to start with?
My car sat low with the n/a springs/struts, but I swapped over to the Tokicos and Turbo springs, and the height is about perfect now. Haven't had a chance to get it on the road and see how it rides, but my weight isn't far from a stock TII, so.

I am not sure if it was or not i don;t think so...i bought it already with the v8 in it from a kid at school...i only paid 900 dollars so i think i did good

Hell yea you did good. I've spent $7k putting mine together. Of course, I bought nice shiny wheels and stuff like that, but hell my car cost $1300 and the rotary only lasted 10 miles before it died.
I've also heard Ground control is the cheapest aftermarket solution to ride-height problems. I was thinking of looking into it myself. I had to use 24in tires because the weight of my all-iron V8 dropped the front about 3 inches.

It hasn't given me any problems at all, but I am using Mickey Thompson ET Fronts which are made for track use only. They're fine for what I do (I rarely drive the car anywhere) but they're not legal for street use and I imagine they won't last long if you tried using them every day. I believe a standard 165r15 should be less than 26" tall, and this wouldn't have been a problem with my car except I used 4" wide wheels and 4-piston brake calipers - so I had to use spacers, which put the tires in the fenders. That's why I switched to shorter tires.
