Finally chose what to do. RX5.0

Hey guys I finally chose motor and its been done hundreds of times but im swapping a 302 into the FB. Heres how it all started, It was a great running car and i loved being able to be able to take it to the buzzer constantly but I always craved something that the rotary was uncapable of bringing. TORQUE!!! I couldnt compare my 2 stroke dirtbike to my freinds four stroke becaus the power was just always there on the 4 stroke I would always have to be playing with the clutch or shifting while he was flying away. I feel the same way about the rotary sorry they are great fun until you need power in the lower end. So on to the build...

Ive already got the Rotary and the Racing Beat exhaust out. From selling those I made 800 dollars and picked up this 302 and C4

Needless to say the motor was a little rough but it ran. This is how the motor looks now.

Looks better dont it?

Ive got the whole car primered and ready for paint im going to use a Satin Black single stage paint.

Im building this car for a Street and Strip car but Im worried if the rear end will hold up to the launches. Also what do you guys do for the exhaust because on the 302 the started is on the passenger side and it looks like there isn't that much room for an h pipe or even a single pipe going through that area. I dont want to get ahead of myself but has anyone that has done this swap go on to do a single turbo? I was thinking of flipping the exhaust manifolds and making a crossover pipe in the front like the mustang guys do and having the Turbo right behind the passenger side headlight. then it would get air from a Tube going to the front airdam and the downpipe could go right down where the stock exhaust would go.

Thanks,
-Austin

This build is almost entirely like mine, 302 and a C4, our motors are even painted the same color. Wish I could advise you on your exhaust but mines the 86 and i have 3'' ran all the way out. No Problems. My turbo will hopefully be put on next winter.

Keep us posted let us know when you get it finished!!!
