FC convertible for ls or lt swap

Are there any down sides to this from a structual point of view? The guy at torquecentral (?) seems to like his LT1 FC convert.

And if I may ask another newbie question. What part is more difficult? The wiring or the mechanical? I'm more of a mechanical person so the wiring sorta scares me

Shouldn't be any downsides. The Vert has some extra bracing and is a couple hundred pounds heavier than the hatch. I plan on adding a rollbar to stiffen things up a bit further.

As far as difficulties go, it's not a very difficult swap - it can be done over the weekend if you have all the parts and know what you're doing.

Wiring is the part i'm not looking forward to either. Mechanically, everything should just bolt right up.

Don't be afraid of the wiring, its more of a PITA than it is difficult, especially if you are using the complete ECU and wiring harness from the lt-1.

My next project is going to be a 289 in an FB with a Haltech, F/I and a blower!!!!! I'm not afeared !!!!!

I have a 88 vert with LT-1 My pop has a 89 vert with LS-1.

Most mech stuff with the vert as it has an extra X-member. That and the mounts have to be removed.

Any questions please feel free to ask.
