ok first of all try the search button. also there is a sticky on faqs on the 2nd gen specific section which states (Q: I want to replace my rotary engine with a piston motor, what can I do?
A: Some people have done that, but it is generally not covered or even recommended to be brought up here in the 2nd Gen Sections, but rather in the Other Engine Section of this board. There are also other websites out there that cater to helping conversion issues.) so my advice would be check the dealer, rebuild, or just find another 13b. dont feel bad about the motor going i had my n/a for 9 months and the rear rotor went. so i went and did a jdm swap that i just got running tonight (i bought a 87 gxl that the turbo is in) the n/a im rebuilding witha streetport so thats what i would do. i would however NEVER DISGRACE A LEGEND Thats what the rotary is...

Well to swap in a V8 you eill either need to do a LOT of custom work or order a v8 conversion kit. That alone will set you back $500+
Then you have to get the engine and all the other parts.
Can it be done? Yes
Is it cheap? Depends on what you call cheap
If you want the easiest thing to install find another NA 13b and drop it in, easy and they can usually be found for dirt cheap.
If you want more power, more work and a differnt car then do a V8 swap.
and they have conversion kits for most "normal" V8 blocks. The ford 5.0 and the 350/LT1/LSx blocks being the most popular.

It depends on the condition, miles, compresion (if you can test it) ect.
Also, check craigs list, i have seen them for a few hundred bucks before.
Usually an NA engine that i have seen is anywhere from $250 - $750.
