Engine Swap?

Hello everyone, i want to swap out my 1987 turbo II engine becasue the engine is totally dead. I was hoping i could swap in a small block v8 or a v6 or something, these days gas is expensive and i need soemthing more reliable. anyone know how much it's going to cost and all that? Thanks.

Reliable? I don't think it's going to happen. Every swap I've ever been involved with in any car has resulted in a long history of constant adjustments and repairs.

I'd be more tempted to go the other way and put a rotary into the place of a poor piston engine. Like, into a Sunbeam Alpine, or an MGB.

My rotarys have always run smoothly and reliably, and I've had several FBs and REPUs (no FC or FD, yet). I've also had several high-performance piston engines and I remember when driving them the distinct impression that they were tearing themselves apart and beating their pieces into pulp, despite the fun they were to drive.

If you want reliability you should buy one of my FBs.

My swap runs awesome....i haven't had any problems at all with it. LS1 FD

I don't know much about FC's but over at v8rx7forum.com they can definitely help you out. FC's are much much cheaper to swap than FD's so good luck with it and trust me you'll never regret ditching the dorito.
