Electric Fan Question - How Many CFM For My 5.0?

Trying to get the radiator/fan situation sorted out on my 5.0 FB. It's a mild build and I don't have A/C. I've seen numbers all over the place, from 2000 to 3000+

I plan on using a 22x19 Radiator. I was thinking about this fan: 16" HIGH PERFORMANCE ELECTRIC RADIATOR COOLING FAN - FLAT BLADE and the shroud that fits that fan (the shroud is also sold on that site).

They also have a smaller curved blade 14" fan on the same site that's rated at 2800CFM, but it won't work with the shroud they sell for that radiator.

I certainly don't mind ordering a fan from another source, I'm just sort of hung up on that site because they sell that nice clean shroud that would work perfectly with the radiator I'm going to get... Any other suggestions? How much air movement do you think I'm going to need?

There's quite a few factors you haven't discussed: ducting in the nose, underbody panels, choice of coolant, vented hoods, single/dual/triple core radiators, single pass, dual pass etc.

However as a ballpark, 22x19 is a decent sized radiator (if a bit tall to make full use of the area). A 2200 cfm fan is good too but you need to be careful with the specs as manufacturers sometimes pad their numbers via optomistic testing scenarios. If you're making 300 rwhp from a 5.0 I'd suggest you try it with the simple version and you'll figure out quickly if you need more. Worst case you sell a cheap fan used and lose $30. Not a big deal.

I ran a heads cam LS1 with a C4 vette radiator (single core, single pass) and a volvo s80 fan (don't know specs but it wasn't a huge CFM machine) all while making 460 rwhp. It was fine until I added AC, then it couldn't keep up on a hot day in traffic.
