48K?

Jeebus, that's a lot of money for a car that would end up going to the wife after the inevitable divorce.

I agree with 3rd and final. I have never had any interest in swapping my rotary for any piston engine. Sure, it might be fun to have the power for a little while, but in the end it just wouldn't be the car that I fell in love with. It would be like an RX-7 with no soul. That probably sounds corny, but that's how I feel. Personally, I'd couldn't rob my car of what makes it so unique.
Can you tell me where I can find a soul for my car? I'd be interested in an aftermarket one I guess, since it didn't have one listed on the factory build sheet.

Aren't the 20B engines a lot heavier than a 12A or 13B as well? Wouldn't that screw up the handling?

/\/\/\/\ yes and yes.
but I guess since those are rotary motors, the handling argument isn't dealt with.
silly rotary purists!

so many people think all V8 swaps add 400 pounds to the front of the car making it nose heavy pig but thats just NOT the case. when oh when will people learn the truth!?!?!?

He has an emotional attachment to rotary engines becuase of where he socializes, the fact that he has socialized so much due to the common enthusiasm towards rx7s and rotary engines, and believed all the hype the commercials and his peers shared. Therefore, his riposte to any piston-engined swap is his own emotional appeal in the form of an arguement.

For the laymen: Its a bunch of emotional bullshit about a particular class of engine, and the weather forcast for tonight is dark with widespread bright by morning.

Because it's completely incorrect, mostly.

I didnt know a "soul" was standard equipment on a car

Unique? So your saying that a mass produced car is unique?

Now finally an intelligent question, yes it does. But I guess since its a rotary people think its negligable to take weight into account.

I was wondering the same thing, My hypothesis: stupidity

damn I am in a rough mood today, But I am just tired of people who are uninformed spreading random bullshit about things they DO NOT KNOW. Honestly is it that hard to have an open mind about simething you havent heard of before? Just because you have an affinaty for something does NOT mean that you have to treat something different as an attack on your person. Please research something before your fertilizing mouth opens.

Oh yeah, Thats a badass swap there. I am doing a Cadillac 32 valve engine. Real happy to see a DOHC engine in a RX7 and glad to see its possible.

i love when people propagate bad information

think about how much stuff is in the engine bay that is rotary-related. do a V8-carb setup, even with iron block and heads, you can remove alot of **** in the engine bay to get your balance back to factory spec. if its still front-heavy, relocate the battery to the trunk. its not that big of a deal.

LS1-LS7's are almost identical to the weight of a fully accessorized Rotary motor. the weight differential is even closer when considering a 13BT setup with turbo and intercooler and such.

1uz's arent bad at all... a 2uz and 3uz are some bad-*** engines but you pay a hefty price to get into one of those.

Uh... it doesnt. The block on its own doesnt weigh nearly that much. Fully dressed, all iron EVERYTHING, is like 575 lbs. And nobody has iron intakes, heads, etc anymore.
