I have a 1987 Tubo that I converted to a V8 in 2001 using Granny's Speed Shop engine and trans mounts. 1986 GM 305 small block (I think they are called an LT1, but I'm not sure).

I want to replace the T5 with a T56.

CXRacing gave me a strange response when I asked if this mount will work with a 305 small block and a T56. All they said was it will work LS1/LSx. They did NOT respond to my question with "yes, no, we don't know"

Does anyone here know if this mount will work for my needs? (305 small block on Granny's mount with a T56)

If your engine is an '86 LT1 (second gen Chevy small block) then it won't fit. They say it fits the LS1 and later motors (LSx means LS2 though LS9, or Gen 3 small blocks), which were made between 1997 and 2007.

 

Why do you think it won't fit. It will bolt to a T56 and an RX-7. The only question is are the elongated holes long enough to accommodate a T56 mated to an LT1. The manufacturer says it will fit an LS1 and LSx, but does not mention LT1. Perhaps it has not been tested with an LT1.

I contacted the manufacturer who said only, "this item fit Mazda RX-7 FC with LS1/LSx Engine Swap". I replied with "Yes, but do you know if it has been tried with an LT1 and a T56?", but received no reply. The seller's feedback indicates very poor communication, so I was hoping someone here might be familiar with this mount.
