Car arrived- LS3 FD3S (Video)

Showed up on transport yesterday morning.
Sounds good. Maybe too loud for me as I am old.

LS3/T56

Coming off truck

Wife revs it a little. Think she needs practice

Actually its horribly put together in many respects. He is also a less then honest seller and person.
I would avoid doing business with him.

Just for starters the cars odometer didnt work, the wheels he claimed as new had road rash on 2 of them. Tires on rear were completely bald.
The rear control arm was toast and had to buy a replacement, the car leaks oil all over my garage floor, the serpentine belt was hanging half way off the pulleys due to a worn out tensioner. Not a single body panel is straight on the car. Rear drivers side fender looks like an accordion. (He said it doesn't run) fenders say otherwise.

The car came missing half its exhaust. It falls on its face at WOT...
Honestly this is for starters.

Add to that I called him within 24hrs to tell him all these problems and offered to ship it both ways back to him at my expense just to get out of the deal...

He told me he was an honest person and would take care of some of these issues so I agreed and then he disappeared. He erased his for sale ad where he stated the car was in amazing condition and was ready to daily drive.

I captured the ad and have texts from him claiming the car needed nothing!
He assured me as an Airforce officer that he was honest and was a man of integrity then he bailed. Not only did he claim it was problem free he initially said he would fix the bigger problems. The. He started back pedaling and claiming the shipper broke it and it was an as-is sale and refused to live up to his word.

He is a discrace to men in uniform. As a veteran myself I am appalled and have been weighing my options.

I have a few photos and video of a couple of those problems. I was willing to eat $2600 just to get out of it at no cost to him.
If he claims I got such an amazing deal on an amazing car he should have taken it back at zero cost to him.
Now I am faced with having to go after him for all these problems. I even have him a small $ number just to settle. Was a more then fair proposition compared to what he stuck me with.

I bought the car sight unseen based on his word as an officer and pilot in the USAF.
His charechter isn't worth anymore then a greasy NJ used car salesman. Tell you a rosey story and then **** you after the sale.

Regards,

Mike

Jeffery Guillotte USAF is a dishonest person who took advantage of a veteran in a sight unseen car transaction.

Video of control arm. This made the car jolt horribly when going on or off the throttle. Hitting the brakes made the car feel like the rear was going to come apart out from under you. There was no way he didn't notice this

Look at the whole wheel and brake/hub move!

Here is a pic of the belt hanging off. I will get pics of the wheel damage the oil leak and some of the other issues to show that Jeff is a dishonest seller.

I even tried to get him to tell me of anything wrong, even that I believed a car like this must have something needing attention?
Nope it's perfect!
This must be worth the money I am paying!

Read last couple lines of what he says here.

When I got the car and called him he went and edited all his sale adds all over on every car forum he listed it and deleted everything. This was only after he decided to bail on me. To cover his greasy tracks.

Not sure what you paid for it, but there are a lot of higher end $ parts on the car, LS3 engine, stoptech brakes, Samberg radiator setup, Improved Racing front strut brace, coilovers, rear control arms (didn't the company agree to give you a new one) and the car looks really clean under the hood. Hope you can work it out with the seller, once you fix the stuff that you don't like I think you'll be happy with it.

I do think I will be happy once it is actually made right. The only issue is that is was represented as a needs nothing car with new wheels and tires.

One of the sticking points on the negotiating were the fact it had new $6k worth of wheels and tires.
Honestly there is so much wrong with the car that I understand you don't realize. There was some real deceit going on here. And it was in an effort to maximize the sales $.

After driving the car it smells like coolant is leaking. I dont see it but it has the smell. It pops out of reverse unless you hold it in gear. Rear brakes are toast. Body panels bent up. My garage smells strongly of gasoline so it prob needs some modding through old charcoal can etc. lots of other things but some of the issues you are going to have with a car this age. Some things could even be considered a possible oversight. Many were blatant and startling when driving the car the very first time.

I expected a used car, but was assured it was problem free and I at least expected it close to as described.
I havnt even got into all its issues as it is enough what has already been stated. I will be back into it. Fixing what I can. Who knows what else I have yet to find.

I plan to fix all these things but not only do they take money but they take time. So how do you value your time?

Who says I have all the skills to fix everything myself? Even if I could get second hand parts or I have to buy tools I don't necessarily own and have to learn to fix everything or pay someone $95hr to do it.

This isn't a knee jerk reaction. I've tried dealing with the PO before posting this. I had given him options. I asked for a very small concession and it is insulting he agreed to it then had the ***** to say the shipper did it or it all happened in my possession.

I called him withing 24hrs of taking delivery pointing out the glaring issues. He admitted some of the items he did not disclose. Offered to fix whatever was causing the problems causing the driveline shift or bang etc.
He then totally welched on his agreement to make it right. Told me what an honest person he was.
I really tried reasoning with him.
I have avoided making a public statement about the experience I've had up until I had no recourse.
I understand what miscommunication is.
This is not that, it is also not a difference of opinion.

If nothing else, forcing you to replace those lower control arms is a blessing. They're a terrible(dangerous) design, imo.
