BoostCrzy's LS2 FD

So after 10 years of faithful service from my 13b....I decided it was time to give the old slug a rest and drop a bit of muscle(LS2/T56) into the rex....So with alot of help from friends and folks on here I was able to make a few calls and get everything needed to make it happen.

The car should have come with this motor from the factory!!....

Main stuff is Samberg...hydraulics/Driveshaft from Hinson...Pez scratch built harness(Greg knows his stuff...highly recommended)....JTR Longtubes...custom Y into the 3.5in Greddy catback...haha....I'll need tires in no time now....traction is an issue through 3rd!!....

heres a few pics of my ride....more to come!

Pez's Custom harness and PS lines....a work of art!

15lbs advertised weight....I used one in my buick for about 2 years as a daily driver...no problems...its when they sit you have more issues...have to keep them on a trickle for long periods of down time....

...and as for thecoupler....a straight piece would hit the hood and doesnt flex...have to follow the shape of the nose as it gets to the filter...

thats just badass. noob question though, I've always wondered what is the effect on the weight ratio? How much heavier is this than the 13b?

thanks....

....the effect on weight is negligible.....the car still maintains an almost perfect 50/50 weight dist.

doing a 3 rotor swap throws the balance off....this swap does not.

thanks for the info. The swap seems so well suited to this car it really is quite intriguing.

Beautful Swap. All it needs are valve covers to hide the coils - and a 150shot of spray.

I love that Samberg Intake Rad setup! Great Clean Swap man. The car looks beautiful and as if everything belongs there. I'm happy to see a bat fit in the engine bay is that the fighter's garage bat kit?

Nice swap. PEZ harness looks sweet...I need to get him to do mine. Cam specs? Tuned? I would think you could push some more ponies out.

very clean swap. With a cam change you will see some serious power gains.....

So did it mess up the handling?

...Handling is PERFECT....even better than with the 13b...(smooth power delivery)

I know it may be a lot of work but would you mind listing out the stuff you used for the conversion? I'm looking to stockpile all the stuff I need for this exact conversion (LS2 with JTR long tubes and whatnot) when i get back from Iraq

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Nice looking conversion. Now you need to find a new forum name unless you slap a turbo or supercharger on that bad boy

Too funny. Are you going to DGRRX? Would love to test drive an LSX powered FD. I'll return the favor with my 20B
