Best Car/ Engine

So i'm thinking about selling the 12a and picking up either an fb or an fc v8 project car that someone quit on. My friend Austin has a 350z and i really want to stomp him in a v8 rx7 (he's a terrible driver anyways so its doable.) Which rx7 should I go with? which engine? which transmission? I want a fairly easy swap and I want to be able to drive it as a daily driver if I feel like it. I was sort of leaning toward the fc because of all the aftermarket support (for suspension, rims, etc.)

I finished my V8 swap into an 83 FB. It was EXTREMELY easy. I went with a small block chevy from a 3rd gen camaro. Went with a t5 tranny. Modified the stock V8 mounts to fit and made my own tranny mount. shifter lined right up no problems there. You will have to cut and weld the oil pan to clear the steering bar. Over all it was really easy for my 1st swap ever.

Over all its heavier it the front so it feels less like a go-cart but its much, much faster. Oh, and its much lighter than an FC. So if you want the fastest combo possible, go with a FB. Sure you have less after market support but the thing weighs nothing.

Any questions feel free to PM me.

If you compare a LS1 FC, vs 350z there's no comparison in speed, the FC will pretty much toast the Z. Slap on some bolt on's for both the FC and Z and the LS1 will flex it's muscles.

Tons more room in an FC and no pan modification required if you but a kit. I've done both. THe FB is lighter but not light enough to be worth the extra work IMO.
