Another route is to just smog it. If it has working emissions the LS swapped car will likely pass with flying colors compared to the ****.
PM me and give me more specifics and I will see if I can point you in the right direction.

Does your swap have a working check engine light? They might pop the hood and not know what motor they're even looking at.They are more concerned with safety and chassis damage. Was it in a collision?theft?

seriously...I had hood damage and needed it replaced. the instuance agent and I sat there staring at the hood/engine for 25 minutes. didn't even realize that there was a v8 + turbo sitting right there. 1/2 the time people with those types of jobs don't know what they are looking at, they just know what they are looking for. if that makes sense

THX guys but its a bit more than that - this all started with Hurrivcane Sandy, I managed to keep the car completely dry but the F'n insurance co. totaled it out anyway. so I bought it back but it has a salvage title which means it needs a NJ Safety Insp. so when I take it to Asb. Pk. they have it for 10 min and say No Good Its Illegal - You/I need a reconstructed title and insp. - been waiting a week for the paperwork from NJ DMV to find out what i have to do - Royal PIA
