93 Camaro Z28 into FD

Just want everyone's take!

I have a 1993 Camaro Z28 with a 383 Stroker - Ed Head - Ed Cam - Ed Throttle and More

car has been wrecked and sitting unregistered for the better part of 5 or 6 years now. I have no intention of fixing or registering it. So was wondering if I should get find myself a rolling FD and transplant the bulk of my Camaro's engine upgrades into a nice solid conversion.

I just want some opinions and input to what others would do.

I'm looking for recommendations as in Should I use maybe an S14/S13 or an FC instead.

Just trying to see what everyone would do if they where in my shoes. They have the complete V8 doner basically, but nothing to put it in and needs to decide what the best option is.

Honestly if I was thinking about looks, I do really enjoy both the FD and the S14.

The FC Chassis (86-91) is the cheapest and easiest GM V8 to RX-7 conversion swap there is.

FB or FC V8 is best.

FD chassis are getting much harder to come by than the FC and FB since there werent many shipped to the US.

plus, FB's would be the more likely choice as SA/FB chassis are a dime a dozen at junk yards

Thanks to everyone who replied!

1. I find it funny that when you ask for people to throw their opinions out there, very few reply. Yet when you sit there and ask a strait answer question, the entire world wants to throw opinions down your throat.

2. I do want to thank those that did give an opinion, I am in a very unique situation because most people have a car and want to know the cheapest conversion they can do. I have a complete LT1 6spd Doner car, and have no clue exactly what I want to put it in yet.

3. I am hoping that more people will reply, because It would help me make my decision a lot faster if more people throw in their 2 cents, so I can have more things to consider.

4. I do want this to be my daily driver, so looks have to be a big part of it and I really do not personally like the appearance of the FB.

I didn't really think about the FC, would the conversion parts really be that much cheaper? Anyone know who would be able to do the wiring harness and the A/C lines for me?

I found a Few FD Chasis for under 8k and even an automatic running for 4k was wondering how expensive or hard it would be to soarce out the peddle and lines to do the manual gear box conversion?

That is an extensive build on a FC with a LT1 and a T-56 Daily Driver.
Go to norotors.com if you want real answers and real help.
This forum is full on rotards that just want to whine and bitch. The real rotory guys aren't going to be of much help for you as they don't know the answers to the questions you are asking.
It would be like going into a Mustang forum and asking them which is the best Camaro you should buy.
Everyone on norotors is friendly and more than willing to give you advice (most good) and guide you in the right direction.

PM me and I can give you some of my own.

AJ

I would say on a budget FC will be the best bet for the swap... there are some great mounting solutions and tons of product on the market that work well. Depending on what your doing with the car the TII rear should hold just fine -unless your a hardcore 1/4 mile guy.

And yeah www.norotors.com is the place to be!

I'm working on a FD with a 94 LT1/T56 swap right now. FB, or FC would probably be an easier swap, but if you like the FD more I say do it!

My suggestion to anybody would be to start with a car that you like, and make it your own. consider options like conversion kits and parts availability, let that play a roll in your decision. consider what kind of deals you can find on cars.

if i had no budget it would be an fd with ls6 and t56...
