5.3 or t2 price comparison (and can jdm t2 be trusted)

ok so after some researching i think i could get
t2 engine and tranny for around 1200 + drivetrain 100 + assorted rearend parts 450 + other engine bay parts 750 soo what around 2000 to 2500 for t2 swap

5.3 vortec v8 can be found for like 750 - 1000 they have around 300 horsepower and loads of torque i would need ******* expensive transmission though like 1300 bucks and then another 500 to 750 for oil pans etc so v8 would fit so like 2750 - 3000 for that option

do these prices sound even somewhat realistic to you?

i am also scared to buy jdm t2 engine from some shady importing company in canada, which seems to be the only place i can find them while a v8 can be found right here in the good ole us of a

It's going to be VERY hard to do a 5.3 swap for under $3k. You might want to research it a little more before deciding on it... however, you can get a transmission a lot cheaper than $1300 if you don't mind having an auto. A T56 will probably be anwhere from $1200-2000 though.

+1 I've never heard anything bad about them, except that they don't seem to know the difference between S5 and S4.

3 or 4 people from here ordered some Honda b-series and 1 H22 from then and 3 of them were either blown or had severe problems with them.

A friend just did a T2 conversion on a 1st gen, including an engine rebuild for just under 3k. So on an FC it should be cheaper with far less custom work.

And I did an LS1 swap for 1750 dollars. That doesn't mean it's the rule.
