I don't see niggly **** like motor mounts, gaskets, misc bolts (LS1 based engines use disposable head, main, and rod bolts right?), and the like. The little stuff adds up rather quickly.

That new cam looks sweet. As for the car I may end up doing a 99 front conversion and a paint job if the current 94 white doesn't buff out nicely. Then I will be over $20000 for sure. Lucky for me I have a fantatsic fabricator and mechanic to work on my car otherwise the labor and fab part of the job would be a lot of money.

How is your project looking Jim? Does it look like your car will be running soon? I can't wait to see and hear that sucker roll with that crazy V-8. Perhaps you should enter it next year for the SCC Ultimate Street Car shootout. If my 427 is done by then I will think about entering mine, as well as the Car and Drive tuner shootout next June. I may need to slap on some turbos to keep up with those cars however.

We are going to the Car and Driver Super Tuner Shootout event next month with our shop Evo VIII. Apparently we are up against a turbo E46 M3, Twin Turbo Z06, Twin Turbo Viper, Twin Turbo 360 Modena, Tweaked E55 AMG, Tweaked Twin Turbo 996 and possibly an Enzo Ferrari as well as some other crazy rides. Looks like we are going to have some trouble finshing first in this competition!! I just hope we do well and the car performs as it should and gives a few of the big dogs a scare like we did at One Lap of America. Thats about all we can hope for being the only 4 banger in this shootout. I can't wait to see these high power rides up close.

Brett.

I already have gasket sets, motor mounts, bolts etc. I have not included a new clutch however which may or may not be required for a heads and cam set up as my motor comes with the Z06 clutch? I will probably do the Spec 3 clutch next year when the 427 engine is dropped in.

The Z06 clutch isn't all that great. I know from personal experience.

The McLeod Street Twin is the clutch to have, accept no substitutes. If you have to go with a single disc clutch, most people are finding that the Spec Stage IV is a better setup than the Stage III. Although the Stage IV has an unsprung hub, I've read that it's quieter than the Stage III and easier to drive. I've also heard stories about the Stage III sprung hub coming apart. I'd do some research on web.camaross.com/forums (CamaroZ28.com) before buying, just to be on the safe side.

Thanks for the heads up Jim. I will just run the stock clutch until I am actually making enough power to put a dent in it(427 motor)next year. Thanks again for the info.
