327sbc powerglide s5 fc
I had bought my s5 N/A a few years back and withIn a few months she had eigther a blown seal or cracked housing haven't had the the means to open her up to determine. Recently I found a guy who tells me that he would swap a 327sbc with a powerglide trans into my fc for $1200 personally it seems like a really cool deal.
I've done some research on what I'm getting into and even tho power wise it's not the biggest or baddest it's within my budget. Plus it gives me reason to finally get a v8 in her lol, but seems that no one has swapped a 327 in a fc??? My only reason for such swap is A- price for such swap B- reliability C- need to have my 7 as a running car before I jump into a rebuild
I'm asking for opinions on such swap I always loved the ls1 route but money is a little tight and for the conditions my 7 is currently in I rather just get her back on the road. While I'm learning to rebuild my rotary
With a swap like this if I plan on doing a ls1 swap in the future It should be a lil more straightforward right??
I haven't played with many domestics and my knowledge about this combo is not much all I know is 327 stock is 250hp and a powerglide trans is a 2-speed trans really solid trans for drag and that's about it.
Any input would be greatly apreciated

327 would be plenty fun. not sure how he is gonna make money doing the swap for that cheap. I would go T5 or something and keep a manual trans. Lots more info on norotors.

I wouldn't let someone who thinks they could do it for $1200 work on my car. If his time is that cheap, there's probably a reason...
Any case, why 327? That engine was superseded by the 350 around 1969 or so, there are vastly more 350 SBCs out there from 69 up until 1997 and beyond. 2-speed powerglide?! No...

I found a 72 350 with a 3speed from a c-10 I'm still learning on the different transmissions chevy offers but would a 3 speed with granny's kit work as in it would line up correctly in the factory shifter location?
