3000 lbs is portly. My T2 is 2780 with a full tank of gas... that's with a front mount, power steering but no A/C, and a roll bar inside.

So wait did you completely not even get into 4th or just mis-shift and have to force it in? Because I'd find it surprising that your 3rd gear can do 125 or whatever. What size wheels do you have?

I think his slicks were a good bit larger than stock, but I could be wrong.

The only run that I even used 4th was the last one. I missed it, let the car idle down, got it into 4th, then mashed it.. by the time the car re-spooled, I crossed the traps.

the reason he trapped so high without 4th gear is due to a little thing called... momentum when you start getting some real power this tends to follow with it haha.

Yes, but with the stick tire size you max out well before 125 in 3rd. If I remember right its more like 100.

yes, if you hold it at "x" rpm in "x" gear then that remains true. when you start getting up around and over 400rwhp the car will pull so hard thru the gears that as you are shifting the momentum is still pushing you up in mph.

How much MPH do you estimate you gained while "coasting"?

I dont want to start an arguement-but I have not experienced this in any car or bike I have pioleted down the track- From my 150mph trapping car- to 170mph Turbo Busas.

On the 124 MPH pass, I mis shifted 4th.. tried to get it back into fourth, and finally had to lift the pedal and let the car idle down.. Finally GOT it into forth, and had enough time to respool the turbo before I crossed the traps. You draw whatever conclusions you want.

That makes more sense- When you said momentum before-that suggested the car was in neutral and actually using momentum and just coasting down the track. The car as you state was obviously under its own power, and accelerating through the traps-momentum was not involved.
Do you plan on installing another Tii trans-rebuilding yours-aftermarket box?

You act like I am a newbie or something.. Ive been dragging for over 16 years.. I know when the shifting is the car or when its me just being too exciteable... Sometimes, no matter how long you have been racing, the adrenaline still makes you a little too jumpy....

Exataly-since I will be running the same trans-just throwing a bit more power at it. Its good to see it holding up to at least some abuse.

Sorry for the conussion Rat.

Okay, my bad... Guess I am still jumpy...

Yeah, I will be upping the power to 550 or so in the next few weeks, and I DONT expect the tranny to have many issues with that. BUT, we will see!!
