erik,

that is too lean. it will blow up.

also, it sounds like your turbo is on its way out. :/

You think so? The dyno operator dudes were calling it a "perfect tune", but I was obviously a bit skeptical because they (likely) know nothing about rotaries... And yes, my turbo's got 147k miles on it and the compressor-wheel 'hits' the housing at higher RPM's/boost. Definitely on it's way out... lol.

12.5-12.6:1 sounds like the perfect tune for an NA piston engine. anything above 12.0:1 on a turbo car, especially a turbo rotary, is bad times.
you'd figure we'd *both* know that by now since we've blown our share of turbo rotaries

Hmm... Well, obviously the motor hasn't blown up running like it is, so should I just be worried about unusual fuel-delivery issues? Like, "spikes" that would cause it to lean out? What I'm saying is, obviously my motor doesn't blow up at mid-12's, but if something unusual does happen, I have no buffer zone... Is this what you're saying?

Haha. Yeah... I'm just gonna turn down the boost a little and cross my fingers. What can I say? I simply can't step away from the edge...

Huh? 13's are good for n/a, piston or rotary, no need for 12's unless you're working with fairly high compression or some crazy timing.

I've seen experienced tuners go for low 12's on turbo rotaries, but generally mid 11's would makes people/tuners more comfortable.
