Thumbs up

I decided not to go to the dyno for a couple reasons. Most importantly, my stock turbo has really bit the dust in the past couple weeks... I should've never turned up the boost to 13-14psi on a turbo already blowing oil, lol.

The wheel is now hitting the housing at any boost above 5k RPM's and 10psi. I pulled off the TID and found a bunch of 'angled' scar-marks (same angle as the stock blades). Anyways, I've got a new turbo and 80mm DP/MP on the way and there's another dyno-day coming up, so hopefully I'll get some numbers soon.

Oh yeah, my second reason for not going was that it was my Aunts 50th BD party and I felt obligated to go.

well i have a NA s4 stock 6 port block with about 200K miles on it, with turbo II manifolds port matched to fit the block, and rtek 1.7 ecu, safc, and stock s5 turbo with exhaust fin damage from my turbo motor blowing up.... i have 3" ehxuast and TID mod also ,

anyways i ran a 14.3 few weeks ago,

at about 8 psi( i couldnt get any more , my manifold to block exhuast gasket totally disinigrated , and created a very nasty exhaust leak, it wouldnt boost any higher no matter how much i cranked my boost controllor!! haha...) stock na clutch and 1 tire fire. couldnt get the car to launch very well at all...

fixed my leaks and i have boost set at 11 psi now and it runs much better and spools WAY better... i am also installing an LSD rear diff, ill see what she runs after this, hopeing for a 13 next time

april first i plan to dyno this monster, if it lasts that long... its got ALOT of miles its very tired....

Talking

I'll post my results in about 1mnth if all goes well. Twin t25's on a street ported 6port with stock exhaust ports.(It's a long story) I'll post pics and all the info when I get it on the dyno. Good luck with yours. I'm running the 1.7 and safc2 as well.

erik, how does that stock turbo hold boost at 12psi?

also, is it an s4 or s5 turbo? i'm curious to know if it holds boost til redline, and if that profec-b helps at all.

sounds allllll to familiar. damn I wish it would hold boost all the way to the top. . lol I've got the ssac manifold as well and it just holds it off a little later but that's about it. Oh well

I've got a higher-mileage s4 turbo. It does hold boost pretty well and IIRC it drops to around 10psi by redline? I'll go out a little later and check and if I'm wrong I'll post the different results. I know that just switching to an 80mm Thunderfab DP/MP from a Bonez 60mm made a HUGE difference in top-end power and the turbo's ability to hold boost. I've got dual Apexi N1's in the back.

But yeah, the Profec-B does help with it's balance setting. It's much better than any of the MBC's I've used.

I'll have HP numbers and AFR's tomorrow!

ive got 2 1/2 inch DP and a MBC and it doesnt hold very well...plus the oil ring?? leaks and i got some smoking goin on but nothin major...
id like to get a BNR stage 1 with a recent rebuild...that should hold boost alot better than mine does now...

I dunno if the BNR would hold boost any more seeing that it is still a stock hotside.

yeah,

the hotside is the restriction and causes the boost to bleed down in the higher rpms, but BNR usually clips the stock turbine wheels to allow them to flow more air and i'd assume it HELPS with the problem but may not cure it totally.

Hey I have my car running and starting to tune it. As soon as there is a dyno open I will be there or a track event to get a time slip. Hopefully dyno first. My car is S5 block with half bridge,S4 NA rotors. T04b 60-1 1.15a/r. SSAC tubular fd manifold and external wastegate set to 9psi. Hoping to get close 300rwhp!! might need more boost for that.

And here's a short and crappy montage-video of the Turbo II on the dyno, the Turbo II racing the Galant VR4 (Turbo II at 13psi, VR4 at 22psi) and the Turbo II racing the 350z from a roll. We couldn't upload a larger video, so most of the reaction from the "DSM guy" had to be cut out. As well as his reaction (and antics) when his oil-pan bolt came out on the freeway.
