GTUs vs. the 1/4 Mile...the Saga Continues..
Yo,
Reaction: .543
60' Time: 2.312
1/4 Time: 15.782
MPH: 89.211
Best run so far. My times have dropped with more mods I've put on.
It's gone like...16.7...16.4...16.0...15.8...15.7.
I will probably visit the strip next week to see how it does with the new S-AFCII enhanced top end.

just dont care.

i ran a 15.5 @ 88 in my NA (91 coupe). i had a 2.2 60ft. mods were intake and exhaust, AC/PS/spare/etc weight reduction FD wheels with 225/50 tires. our 1/4 track also starts the runs at like 8:00pm so the air temps are nice and cool when we run. that always helps
since then i have a done a total series5 turboII swap so i'm hoping for a 13.6@106 or so when i go back with the mods listed in my sig. think i can do it? i'll have the boost controller set @ 12psi with my new starion FMIC.

future mods... any help
My 87 TII has 135,000 km's so about i dunno 75,000 - 80,000 miles you guys do the math. In the summer i want to rebuild it, street port it and put 3mm apex seals. I am also gonna do a 3 inch downpipe with the full cat system and apexi n1 dual exhaust. I am gonna put an intake on it, a bigger fuel management system and bigger injectors. also a blow off valve, not sure what bov im gonna get though... Eventually I am gonna get a turbo upgrade and a front mount intercooler and a bigger rad... I just want to make my car do 13's... hopfully very low 13's maybe even high 12'2 with the turbo upgrade.... PraxRX7 if you read this please reply. I am in alberta to.

Thats crazy. The fastest time I ever turned in my FC was a 14.8@95(?) and a 15.0@98mph. To think that a mazda 6 is right there, is kinda depressing. Although, I do like the looks of em. CJ

Yo,
Just got back from the racetrack...I broke out on my first bracket race!!
But check it out!!
Reaction: .623
60' Time: 2.183
1/4 Time: 15.302
MPH: 91.243
Yeah! That's what I'm talking about. 2.032 MPH /faster/ than my best run and .48 second quicker!!
That's almost a full half second improvement. Dude, the MPH!
I'm pretty stoked! With a better launch...I could be in the high 14's!! YEAH!
For comparison, the guys at Road & Track got a stock GTUs to do the 1/4 mile in 16.7 @ 84.5mph.
Also, Motor Trend got a 1989 TII to do a 15.02 @ 93.25.
I can't wait until I get my CAI back up and running, then I'm going back!!

I bet you run in the 14's if you put the stock springs in the rear of the suspension less negative camber in the back means more tread laying on the ground before the suspension even compresses and the softer rate makes for more compliance to deal with the force of the launch. I'd also lower tire pressure to around 22psi - you'd be surprised how well the car hooks, just don't take any real corners like that hehe
