Like, what was the problem with the FMIC? heatsoaking, leak, inefficiency?

Well i finally got the FMIC put in about 2 weeks ago and fixed up some other little stuff i wanted to do like the Taurus E-Fan. The car feels so much better now. Today i also got a chance to get it back on the dyno and finish my tuning session. Like before the car was tuned for 14 PSI and 11.4 A/F. WHat ever it made i would be happy with. Here are the results.

Could an EBC instead of an MBC make for a flatter curve and possibly slightly higher peak hp?

I don't know about higher peak hp, but the general consensus agrees that an EBC will get you a flatter torque curve once tuned.

What do you mean 'tuned'? I thought the idea of an EBC was to leave the wastegate closed until you reach the boost you want then it automatically regulates what gets through to the wastegate spring so it stays where you want it... Are there more complex systems that step up boost at different RPM?

I had to play with my EBC under several runs to get the right settings. I'm running a Profec B Spec II so there are 3 settings for boost, set, gain, and set gain (start boost).

I followed this guidline:

http://www.sr20forum.com/turbo-guide...b-spec-ii.html

There are definitely EBC's out there that have settings for every RPM range. The ones I listed are capable of doing it.

Great dyno man! this means that I will absolutely decimate 400rwhp on racegas on my T04S.

Question: do you know how many degrees of leading advance you are running in the peak torque area, and how many degrees at peak rpm? what split? Also how high did you rev it? the dyno seems to indicate over 8000...

do you have an s4 rear iron?

Any questions about tuning i couldnt answer because i really dont know. Thats why i took it to a person that does.

Yes the car was taken past 8K RPM's

The motor was put together with S4 plates, S5 Housings, and S5 internals.

Im sure this set up is capable of a little more with a few more pounds of boost but after the car being down for a while and the diffrent problems that i ran into im happy were its at.

does anyone here know if it is safe to rev to 8000 (on a regular basis) on s4 t2 rotors? I've got enough porting and I've got enough turbo to do it. Engine has a big streetport, T04S, rotary aviation super seals, and I guess whatever else Bruce Turrentine put in it.

since he doesn't balance the rotating assemblies i wouldn't get too rev happy but hitting the 8k mark should be ok granted everything else is good.
