Well, I intentionally went with that turbo because of its ability to grow with the motor.

Put another way, once I get a ported motor, the spool numbers should improve drastically.

Its basically a stock S4 block with a T-61 turbo, custom IC, alcohol injection, and a bunch of supporting mods.

Who says it can't be done? 6 years ago Ari hit 620 rwhp on an unported Mazda rebuilt 3rd gen engine.

Im inclined to ask, what kind of fuel mixture did you use exactly (how many gallons of what and what?), and what kind of timing advance did you run, i know these are the trademarks of a great tune and probably top secret, but can you share a little more? I ask becuase this puts 93 octane and alcohol injection into the proper perspective, and shows what the end results can be.

I also assume you have a killer cooling and oiling system, and is the motor rebuilt, mazda reman, or junkyard?

385 was on 91 octane with a 10 LB spray nozzle of denatured on top. The advance is something I would have to go back and look at, because I dont recall.

The cooling system is a "Shook" mount with a K2RD Radiator. Oiling is all stock, and the motor is a reman.

Nice. Now what is the 55% difference between an S4 and 3rd gen?
Is it just the ports or is there more to it?

Well, there is some speculation here, but from my experience, the S4 is the worst flowing of the 3 series.

Now, everyone read back on my post. I didnt say "its never been done", I said "some people think it cant be done on a stock S4 block". This comes up all the time in the 2nd gen section, not so much in the single turbo section.

Power seems a tad low for 20psi with meth injection doesn't it? Don't get me wrong I'm sure it fast. Maybe " RS motorsports " doesn't know what the hell they are doing.

power is based on the size/efficiency of the turbo, this turbo is not excessively huge and as stated the engine is in stock form. why does that seem low?

I've seen numbers higher than that more than once on that same unported engine running 5psi less boost on smaller turbos( 60-1).

RS motorsports didnt tune the motor. We have just completed a new map with some much needed updates to trailing spark and advance. More power should be available soonl
