Finally got my 87 TII to the dyno****

I've finally got some numbers for my TII on the dyno... this was a dyno dynamics dyno which supposedly reads significantly lower than a dynojet...i have pics and video of some of the pulls too. I"ll put them up when I get some time.

its an old hks kit from the early 90's, garret to4E...its about a 57 trim compressor. thats pretty much all i really know about the turbo since it's so old. i'll try to get you the info and post it here for you later.

Nice numbers!
That turbo is designed to put down about 300 at the wheels.
With the DD dyno, you're making closer to 350 at the wheels on a comparable DynoJet!

Here's a pic of it on the dyno...

I have a video but the sound maxed out the microphone on my video camera, if anyone is interested in seeing it let me know how to get it on here...its like 6.5 megs.

Looks great man! I would have thought with a full turbo upgrade it would have made increasing power straight to redline!

You have any datalogs from the run?

AFRs?

How much water were you spraying for those runs?

I haven't loaded the videos yet...I'm out here at Maxwell AFB doing asbc and I don't have access yet to the internet to upload my video, i'm just using a public computer..

I wasn't spraying any water. I have another dyno sheet with the AFRs, they stay right around 11.5 the whole way. I am losing boost above about 5500-6000 rpm for some reason, i don't know if it is the wastegate or whatever. If i wasn't losing that boost i would be making a lot more power.

Great numbers my friend. I like the fact that your car looks completely stock on the outside. I bet you spank alot of *** on the street and get some wierd looks from guys driving 35k plus cars after. Can you say Sleeper

Man I have to say those would be some nice numbers if you had minor bolt ons. But that isn't the case here. There is so much more power that you could get out of that street ported motor you have there. A couple of questions to ask and might be able to help you out with getting some more out of it.
1. are you running a stock manifold on this setup if so is the wastegate at least ported?
2. do you have the mods done to the throttle body?
3. Cartech intercooler and blow off valve?
4. Did you build this car in the early 90's?
5. By the looks of it the turbo is losing boost before it even reaches the cars natural power band.
