I went out to the track again this weekend....and started pullin' some damn good 60' times.

I'm running a 245-45-16, z-rated of course, street tire. I've lightened up the front end a bit.....took the powersteering pump out (swapped for a manual rack) and took all of my air conditioning stuff out, (coil and all the lines) and I moved my battery back to the back.

Anywho...didn't beat my best 1/4 time, but here is the slip...

8.6799 --1/8th
81.54 -----mph 1/8

11.3078 --1000'
92.90 -----mph 1000'

101.76 ---mph 1/4


Just curious if anyone else has been able to pull some 1.9's in their 60's on street tires...I had way too many people ask me what type of drag radials I was running that night.

 

1.9's is damn good for a street tire....my best is in my signature....using 245/45/16 and they were your basic yokohama avid h4's.


stock weight though no weight reduction what so ever.....jack and spare tire and all....

 

Nice 1/4 time 86gxlsp...I got razzed quite a bit from having a 13.43 @ 102.41, and yet I can see that you also have a slightly better ET also at 102.

I guess these guys runnin' high 13's at 107 just need to learn to drive.

 

HEY! I resent this thread!!! lol. Good 60' are tough to attain on an unprepped, 40*F temp track you know....

 

I'd say so....I'll enjoy my warm track on cool nights...instead of the cold canadian tracks.

 

i ran during a import event at toronto motorsports parkway, on 30*C day, and no prep....i drove it to the track...went to tech and went straight to the lanes to run......that was also at 38 psi in the tires.


the car did well....it also helped that i was running up against guys that i knew and wanted kick there ***'s.........

 

funny how that works...One of my 1.9's was against a awd twin turbo stealth.....my 60' was better than his. LOL

He was with a crew that was trash talking, and this stealth was the "fastest tuner around"...so I had to beat him.....and did.

 

I bagged a 1.8 60 foot on shitty 25 dollar a tire street radials.

They may have been cheap, but it doesn't sound like they were shitty.

 

When you drag race for over 10 years, you learn to use the clutch..

 

1.83 60ft on falken azenis sports at about 25psi tire pressure

i just did a smokey burnout for 5-6 seconds and rolled up to the line, then pretty much did a clutch dump from 6000 rpms or so.

 

clutchwork isnt going to put power on the ground if your tires are too shitty to hold onto the pavement.

your tires werent that shitty

Um, driving experience can help extract the max traction out of the tires.. I checked the set that I had. they were 225/60R16 Falken Ziex tires that I got for 25 a tire. They are considered to be a middle of the road all season radial.

But hey, you youngsters always know better!

Anyways, the car just got a fresh set of ES-100s, so we shall see..

 

friend of mine did a 1.64 on his real street tires, that he drives to work on every day..

in an AWD talon though lol.
