i have an 88 base na, its getting streetported , lightweight steel racing beat flywheel, dual friction clutch, collected rb header, single outlet catback 2.5" piping, 3.5" outlet, safcII , and summit rpm switch activation opening my 5/6 ports at about 4000rpms

also have no a/c, might remove the powersteering (not sure yet), and try to take some other stuff out to get my weight down

with the single outlet catback and my ac removed, my car should weigh 2575 lbs and i hope to run a 14.5 or around there, my true goal is to run a 14 flat with some tuning and more mods

14.5@ sealevel?? totaly possible with your setup. ill be running 14.9 or better with stockports, after i get intake, rb header-presilencer-corksportcatback,msd digital 6, and safc-II.

i figure with all the bolt-ons ill get another second faster... is this realistic?

id say u can do it but u could also fall short, but a 1/2 second off minimum

#1 it depends on your tuning
#2 how well you launch
#3 how good your tires are

good clutch and flywheel would also help alot too

is your 6PI system working? Cat clogged maybe?

what elevation is the track there? 60' time?

it IS a 5 speed, right?
i dont think its anything
given the car is STOCK and he weighs 200lbs id say thats about where his time should be at...

i bet i could get into the mid 15s with my car, seeing that i kinda have weight reductions . . A.K.A. no spare tire and a piece of my roof is chopped out. But then add the weight of a roll bar and the fact that i'm running a GXL (heavy bitch) i dunno the intake and high flow cat seemed to make a good difference in performance, who's the fastest stock port n/a around here?

I'm gonna doubt that and say BS unless you show me some timeslips. 100 lbs only takes off 0.1 so weight reduction has its limits.

Unless you've actually ran it you shouldn't quote times, because you really have no basis for it other than what you think. If you actually got your car down to 2300 lbs and 165whp (was this SAE corrected btw?) then it could have hit 13's but I'm going to doubt it.

Think of it this way. A completely bone stock s5 TII has 200hp at the flywheel, or ~170rwhp after 15% drivetrain loss. Now keep in mind this will still have more torque than you by a fair amount. The stock s5 TII weighs 3003 lbs, approximately. Say you really are at 2300 lbs, well that would be like stripping 703 lbs off the TII, right? General rule of thumb is 100 lbs = 0.1 sec in the 1/4 mile. So 703 lbs = 0.703 seconds off the stock 1/4 mile time. The stock s5 TII runs a 15.1 to 15.2 stock, so you're looking at a 14.4 to 14.5, approximately, with that amount of weight reduction and more power than you. With a good launch and giving into the fact that this amount of weight reduction could net you more, I'd say a 14.2ish is possible with those variables (but the launch needs to be good, and TII's with more torque net better 60' times than n/a).

So I'm still skeptical, and since you haven't even ran it and are just estimating then I'm gonna still say most likely not.

I ran 18's in my SE back in the day, with really crappy tires and seized 5th/6th ports.

That is why i said about that not that it was doiung that i'm not going to get into a arguing match here about this i'm just saying that it is possible to a degree depending on what you want to keep in the car and how much you want to spend.

You'll run a high 16/low to mid 17.

The targa workk may have removed the weightof the sunroof but your roll bar stuff outweighs that.

I don't know how these guys get into the 15's with some what stock NA's.

Neither of mine hit high 16's.

I assume engine health has a WHOLE lot to do w/ it.
