154K GTU 15.7@87mph

Slipn and I went to Sac raceway yesterday to do some bracket racing. I wasn't really feeling up to par, I had molar removed on tuesday and they must've given me some codein or something cause I couldn't keep anything down afterwards. I could only drink water all day on wed. But still if anything will get me motivated its racing!
We got 3 passes in in 3 hours. To be honest I really didnt care so much about trying to be consistant I just wanted to see what my GTU would do. But I must admit I am no drag racer, my reaction times were shitty and I couldn't really get a good launch. Heck I couldn't even manage to get the stage lights right and not look like an idiot. But whatever.. I still whooped on an integra and two wrx's.

Strangely my 1st pass was the fastest. Somehow I must have been doing something right by spinning the tires so much off the line cause I got the fastest ET even though my latter passes had faster trap speeds. (Fastest was 89mph)

Now I have a friend who tells me that stock NA FC's can do better then that. The only mods I have that should affect drag racing are a RB true dual road-race exhaust, TII tranny, GXL rear end and ACT flywheel/clutch. My friend says that my lightened flywheel will actually hurt drag racing accelleration is that true? Oh yeah I also blew an oil ring in my front rotor last week but that shouldn't affect anything right?

*nods* yes I saw the same comment on Slpin's post... But I'm not quite sure what your trying to say. Because your not answering either of my questions, about the flywheel or the oil ring, and you shouldn't presume my GTU was stock. I mentioned my RB exhaust..

and I'm saying that your friend doesn't know what he's talking about. Stock N/A's don't run 15's, with the possible exception of a GTUs.

Yeah I figured the same thing, but he could have been talking about carbed 1st gens... and by "stock" he may have just meant non-ported motors..

Anyone have any comments about the flywheel?

Yeah, I felt a 15.5 would have been possible if I was a better drag racer.

They don't run 15's even, only NA to run 15's stock is a GSL-SE .

When I had an 86 Sport, it would consistently run 15.1-15.2 and a trap speed of 91-92mph with the ambient temp around 70-80 degrees F and approx 1000ft altitude. It had no cats and a cone filter, otherwise it was all stock.

I actually had tons of sex at band camp. Alot of ***** go there.

Anyhow. My FC has been all over the place with track times, somedays (cooler) I run a 15.3 - 16.0 all day at about 88MPH. I got alot of wheel hop too.
