t78 single turbo dynoed at 328whp (details inside )

originally the car had stock twins which weren't operating properly because of the control system and the stock DP that was on the car had failed so the car was in need of some maintanace. it seemed that it had 120whp or so before any work was done . the owner decided to upgrade as well as do the maintance at the same time, bought a used t78 kit which turns out to be voskos old kit, it included the turbine, the dp, wastegate and the turbo manifold. after puttign the car together and tuning the car on the street i took the car to the dyno to do any of the fine tune adjustments and to see what power it would put down. the car was running off the wastegate spring which is 9-10 psi

owner: Francisco Vega (paco)

relevant mods:

stock port reman
t78
apexi PFC
3 inch exhaust
greddy 3 row
stock ignition with 9s all around

Those numbers sound about right. The Davinci Af61R put down 380@ 12 psi and 420@15 psi with horrible ignition breakup.

Nice torque curve, you can tell the turbo isnt even close to breathing hard.

Didnt Johnny V make like 500 with this turbo and then go out and run 12s ?

while it did put down 460rwhp at one time, i drag raced it on a completely different tune*my own crappy one* that put down about 380rwhp and ran 12.0 @ 118mph. i'm a broken record, i'm pretty sure i've said this about 20 times now....

Actually, this is the first time I've heard this excuse. Your rolodex of excuses must be pretty thick

Why run a t78 at 9psi? They dont even begin to wake up until 15psi/400rwhp. Stock sequential twins could have accomplished 328 at the wheels pretty easily at 15psi.

this particular car needs lots of love! it only had about 100hp before according to my butt dyno, so going from 100hp to 328 is a big jump. basically everything was broken and falling apart. also the car has a fuel pressure problem so it cannot run more than 10psi. the owner needs to put alot of time and money to get the car running 100% before he needs any more power
