Dynoing....what gear?

searched, no luck.

What gear is best to dyno? Im not talking about getting the highest HP numbers, I want the most accurate and best gear to tune in.

if its a FD with a stock tranny (ie 5 speed) 4th gear, if its a 6 speed it would be 5th gear on a Dynojet C248

Ok , so just out of curiosity . I'm gonna dyno my car today . I believe its a dynojet . Last time I was there they gave my friend the option to dyno the car in a lesser gear to put less stress on the drivetrain / motor .

since the FD's 4th gear tops out at like 135

would it be a good idea to dyno it in 3rd ?

ANyone have any opinions on this ?

you want to dyno it where the engine puts power to the wheels at a 1:1 ration which for most vehicles is 4th gear.
