122.xx mph trap speeds,
BUT I'm only running 12.7's and 12.8's. These are my best times to date. I have only made ten passes total with the car. Does anyone else have a hard time getting into third at the track with a short shifter? I made 439rwhp during the summer and even though I'm running some Toyo street tires, I still think something isn't right. Any replies?????????????

what are your 60 times??? I am making about 420 myself and although i have no problem getting into 3rd my 60's are 2.4-2.5 (which is aweful as we all know)range with traps around 118 and times in the upper 12's...my problem is simply traction even though i run a bf ta/kd 285/30 in the rear I dont really get much traction until 3rd....i plan on putting in the kaaz unit and using some drag slick to really get the times i should be hitting...

what rpm are your shifting out of second at? the more i wind out second via pass 8500 its becomes hard to get into third, but if i shift right at 8500 or before it goes in much easier (just something i noticed). the power is there for a good e.t, thats shown by your trap speed, just gotta get some traction and a decent 60'

My main problem is by focusing so much on getting the car into gear, I neglect to keep my right foot floored. I am going back to the track in a few- hopefully with better results. Thanks to all who responded.

I've been shifting at a different RPM each time. Last night I was shifting at 8000 in between each gear. Do you think thats too low?

You guys should be well into the 11's with over 400 rwhp. Get some drag tires! Not only will they significantly improve your times, the soft sidewall will absorb most of the shock instead of your diff.
When I first got my fd I would occasionally miss 3rd, be loose and try shifting it with the palm of your hand.

I usually always shift rather slowly into 3rd compared to the other gears, there is a much higher chance I will miss 3rd when trying to shift fast, I've done it many times at the track, but practically never on the street. I think it is because on the street I always shift using my palm and I am more used to shifting that way, but at the track I hold the stock shifter on the side and I guess I am just not as accurate that way.
It was the last night of the year, I'll get some slicks for next year. I shift between 7500-8000, not trying to over rev the old motor.

Awesome chris, trapping 124 mph at only 14 psi is quite impressive....looks like that Gotham turbo kit that steve specced out is putting down some serious power throughout the rpm range. I need to get out to the track with you sometime next season

I will be going to the track again this Friday night (weather permitting), and hopefully be into the 11's before the season ends.
Does anyone have any advice on how I can improve my 60' time on these street tires? Thanks.

Should I floor it in first, after I hook?
Thanks for all the advice by the way.

Your single turbo probably doesn't spool up as fast as my stock turbos so that will hurt your launches unless you can keep those revs high and not let them drop below 4k. And if you do it just right I don't think your back tires will spin.
