Got the tires and wheels mated yesterday stopped by the shop after work and they put them on the RX7. Look great and no problems. 215/45X17 Dunlop SP Sport A2 tires and 17x7 Victory wheels, Nascar/Drag model. For the first time in over 16 years the old girl has new wheels and she looks great. They work great as well.

Hey GTUser, let us know what you think of the tires you got. So far I really like my FM901's They're not bad for the price. I just finished changing the studs last night, and got to drive it in to work this morning. I just need to fix the rear camber, and it'll be perfect. (well, except for the body paint.)

just got my wheels on my car yesterday 17x7 with a +38 on a 225/45r17 had to use a 1/4 spacer to clear the dust cap and the rears are 17x9 with a +35 on a 255/45/r17 only problem was it hit on the back of the muffler but other wise fit good...also the car is lowered about 1.5 havent gotten to drive the car yet but will soon will get some pics up soon also

Thinking of getting Enkei RPF1:

17x8 +35mm offset (both front and back)
I assume these would fit fine on a stock T2?

I had 17x7 (40mm offset) in the past with no probs.

Also...the "bundle" package from this place has 215/45 17 tire in the package. Would 215 look too skinny on an 8 inch rim?

I had RPF1's in the following sizes... and don't get the weenie 8's for the rear...get them for the front.

I had: 17x 9.5 +38mm rear and 18 x 8.5 +40mm front...

Get the 9.5's with a 255-40 and for the fronts get the 8"+ 35mm w/ 225-45.. These sizes will fit perfect.. If yo need photos, just e-mail me.. I had a 275-40, and its tight, but it will work, but unless your 400rwhp plus, don't bother, get the 255-40

what do you guys think of a 16x7.5 with a +40 offset? I doubt it would fit but I wanted to run it by everyone to get a general concensus.

That will easily fit...

Remember the smaller the offset the more it will stick out, plus you have to then subtract or add for width/rim... EX: if a 8.5" +40 will fit up front, then I don't think a +40mm 7.5" will be an issue.. you have a .5" more to play around with on both sides... use a 225 -50 or 45 tire if there is a 45-16"....not sure on that

I had 7" 40mm up front...with well under 1.5" clearance

That remains a mystery but they did fit w/ Tein RE's coilovers (barely) and then when I stored the car in the Winter (MN) I threw on the oem struts w/ Eibachs and they fit to, but I had to grind off a small portion of the purch... no big deal cuz they sit in storage with them on...
BTW: I sold the Vette-silver 91 TII.. Mazdero owns it now. That car will come to its full potential him tuning it. He's a Wolf EMS guru @ aiming for 9's.... I'm sad its gone but 10 years is enough. I bought a 95 MR2 turbo.. Great car!! I'm a Daddy now I don't have as much time to tinker so the MR2 was my choice. Wish I had both ohhhh well....

i honestly bought my wheels like half a year ago (bbs) and just got around to actually checking the front wheels out on the car today just get a better idea of what size spacers i need. the wheels are 16x7.5 (offset of 45) with bridgestone s-02 225/50's on them for the front. i just measured out washers and put them behind (i wasnt driving anywhere). now..i used about 13-14mm of spacers and had about half an inch of clearance at the most between the tire edge and springs (all stock suspension by the way). i dont know if its alright to try to take it closer than that or not because i really hate how it looks. the tire/wheel sticks out too much for a clean look.

I was thinking about some American Racing wheels. Would a 15x7 with a +40mm offset work on the FC?

If you use spacers that thick of course you'll jave to do longer studs. I would think a 5mmm spacer would do it, then you wouldn't need longer studs..

i actually already have longer studs for the front arizona. it definantly wont ever work with only a 5 mm spacer

with all things being equal a 5mm spacer should work but it would be close.
you would have about .147" clearance.
if you have .500" clearance with 14mm spacer (.55")
a 5mm spacer (.197") would be .353 closer.

I'd go bigger, but I love the look of a full sized tire (not the low profile type) with a nice white lettering on the outside. I also don't want to hurt my gas mileage with larger rims.
